Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Program
The Clinical Hypnotherapy program is for people interested in becoming a Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist with the prestigious Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists of Canada including psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, therapists and other health professionals. As well as people interested in alternative approaches to helping people. It is also for those who want to make a career change to an unlimited field of practice.

This program leads to the Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist (RCH) designation after passing the certification exam and becoming a member of ARCH Canada.

The program is divided into three levels: Basic Hypnosis, Advanced Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy (certification). You will learn hypnosis and hypnotherapy using both theoretical and practical approaches. The goal is to provide the necessary foundation to be competent in the art of hypnotherapy. You will learn "client-centered" techniques through a diverse "student-centered" teaching method.

Basic Hypnosis (Module 100)
The objective of this first basic level is to train the student in the use of modern and classical hypnosis techniques.  By the end of this level, the student will be able to work safely with clients using relaxation techniques, build self-esteem and confidence, relieve headaches, reduce anxiety and fears and practice self-hypnosis. Some of the topics covered in this level include:

o Facts and myths about hypnosis
o History of hypnosis
o What hypnosis is
o How hypnosis works
o What hypnosis can and cannot do
o Types of trance
o The depths of hypnosis
o Theory of mind
o Determining the hypnotic suggestibility of clients
o Basic inductions
o Basic deepening techniques
o Hypnosis experience and personal hypnotic skill development
o Group participation and classroom practice
o Practicum (30 hours)
o Written exam

Advanced Hypnosis (Module 200)
The objective of this second advanced level is to train the student in advanced hypnosis techniques and to provide him/her with a better understanding of the functioning of the mind, both at the conscious and subconscious levels. In this level, the student puts theory into practice.  A large portion of the training is devoted to supervised work with clients and peer consultation.  There will be a written and a practical exam and a certificate of completion will be issued upon completion of this level.  Topics and treatment protocols covered in this level include:

o Advanced Deepening Techniques
o Belief Systems and Family of Origin
o Advanced hypnotic inductions
o Post-hypnotic suggestion
o Body Syndromes
o Object Imagery Therapy
o The brain
o Levels of trance
o Ideomotor response
o Anchoring (NLP)
o Calibration (NLP)
o Access to the positive emotional state
o Dehypnotization and hypersuggestibility
o Basic pain management
o Basic hypnoanaesthesia
o Basics of hypnoanalysis: the inner child
o Age regression
o Introduction to forensic hypnosis
o Understanding "dreams" and hypnosis
o Introduction to DSM-5 for hypnotherapists
o Group participation and classroom practice
o Practicum (40 hours)
o Oral and written exams

Clinical Hypnotherapy (Module 300)
The objective of this final level of certification is to prepare the student to begin professional practice using specific therapeutic methods and clinical procedures.  A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the written examination. Successful completion of the examination will allow the student to become a member of ARCH (Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists of Canada) and to use the RCH designation.  Some of the topics covered in this level are:

 
Additional treatment protocols, such as:
o Client-centered analytical and suggestive approaches
o Circle therapy (for PTSD)
o Party Mediation Therapy
o Remedial therapy (specific use of word association)
o Verbalization techniques
o Visualization and suggestive imagery
o Free association
o Trauma work and desensitization
o Affect bridge therapy
o Smoking cessation (for different types of smokers)
o Weight management and control
o Understanding false memory syndrome                       

Hypnotherapy applied to specific behaviors, such as:
o Insomnia
o Smoking (understanding different types of smokers)
o Eating disorders
o Fears and phobias
o Pregnancy and childbirth
o Depression
o PTSD
o Obsessive-compulsive behavior
o Sexual dysfunction
o Addictions (drugs and alcohol)                   

Additional skills covered:
o Consultation and counseling skills
o Client assessment skills
o Setting up a private practice
o Practicum (30 hours)     

ARCH Certification Written Final Examination. Minimum passing score of 80% to be certified.

Schedule
The next training program will begin on August 24, 2024 and end on June 2, 2025. The total number of hours spent in class, reading, writing assignments, practicum, and studying between classes is approximately 1010 hours.

Training will be online on weekends through Zoom and there is three in-person weekends in Montreal, Quebec. ATTENDANCE AT ALL WEEKENDS IS REQUIRED. Training hours are as follows: Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Clinical Hypnotherapy (Module 300) :
o April 6-7, 2025 (Zoom)
o May 4-5, 2025 (Zoom)
o June 1-2, 2025 (In Person in Montreal, Quebec)

Tuition fees
Tuition: $4995.00 + applicable taxes

Registration fee: $175.00

1. Tuition does not include registration fees, books or association membership fees.
2. Retest fees are extra.
